Three League City neighborhoods are getting recycling bins today, officials said.

AmeriWaste will distribute recycling containers to South Shore Village, South Shore Lakes and Harbor Park. AmeriWaste, the city's new contractor for garbage and trash collection, begins service May 1.

Crews will only leave a recycle bin at an address where recycling is placed at the curb for collection, city staff said.

Residents who live in those three neighborhoods but don’t get a recycling bin can still get one, but they have to contact AmeriWaste directly at 281-585-3200 or leaguecity@ameriwaste.net, city staff said.
