TEXAS CITY — Raquel Martinez 17 one of three girls critically injured in a car crash that killed another teenager two weekends ago was declared brain-dead Wednesday officials with Ben Taub Hospital in Houston confirmed.

Meanwhile a Texas Department of Public Safety accident investigation team was in La Marque on Thursday. The state has joined the investigation to help map out "exactly what happened" La Marque Police Department's lead accident investigator J.L. Campbell III said.
