The following down-ballot races were decided Tuesday night.

GALVESTON COUNTY

COURT AT LAW NO. 2

Republican Kerri Foley defeated Donnie Quintanilla by 11,790 votes to 10,333 votes, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Democrat Kerry Pettijohn defeated Benjamin Roeder 4,626 votes to 3,832 votes.

Foley and Pettijohn will face each other in the general election on Nov. 6.

Sitting County Court at Law No. 2 Judge Barbara Roberts is retiring from her position at the end of her term. Roberts earned $163,000 during the last fiscal year.

JUSTICES OF THE PEACE

Precinct 1

Greg Rikard will be the next Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 judge after edging out Alison Cox. Rikard finished the tight race with 2,972 votes to Cox’s 2,928, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Precinct 2

Mike Nelson edged out Jim Schweitzer in the race for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 race. Nelson had 4,317 votes compared to Schweitzer’s 4,111 votes, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Precinct 3

Billy Williams Jr. will be the next Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3. Williams defeated Kitty Allen, 1,347 to 744, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Justices of the Peace earned annual salaries of $82,715 in the last fiscal year.
