New proposed Texas A&M Ship

A rendering shows a training ship proposed to be built for Texas A&M University at Galveston and the Texas Maritime Academy. The 525-foot ship, known as a National Security Multi-Mission Vessel, would cost $389 million. Funding for the ship was included in an appropriations bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday, July 30, 2020.

For the first time in 15 years, a proposal to bring a proper ship back to Texas A&M University at Galveston has some buoyancy.
