Congratulations on a fine career! Kroger's in Galveston started from a Henke & Pillot that was located in what is now the Goodwill Store, then in 1976 moved across the street to a new building that is now Academy. When i started working there in 1970, cash registers had cranks for when the power went out, checkers had to call out each price as the item was rung up and an average 8 hour shift generated about $1600 in sales.
