Clear Lake Shores and former City Administrator George Jones have agreed to a separation package that the city council approved Tuesday.

Jones’ compensation will be $61,034.37, which includes six months of pay and benefits, officials said.

“This was a difficult decision for the city council,” Mayor Michael McNamara said. “George has been an asset to our city, and his public service to our employees and citizens is greatly appreciated.”

Jones, who started his job as city administrator in January 2013, had a salary of $93,000, officials said.

No interim city administrator has been appointed, officials said.
