Jamaica Beach fire

Jamaica Beach firefighters rescue a family’s dog from a house fire. No one was hurt.

Fire destroyed a house in Jamaica Beach early Saturday.

Jamaica Beach firefighters fought a blaze about 8 a.m. in the 4600 block of Jamaica Cove Road, Fire Chief Kyle Baden said.

A woman and three dogs were inside the house, but got out safely, Baden said.

Firefighters did have to get one of the dogs out of the burning house, he said.

The house was a total loss, Baden said.

The fire apparently started in the garage, but the department will investigate the cause, Baden said.
