The drastic decrease in overall "learning" as shown and noted was an expected result of the significant and unproven change in the teaching process. The measurable metrics and key indicator parameters provide a good base as we move forward. The key is to develop an effective process to close the gaps and to trend-track progress - or lack of it so we can tweak/fix as we go. This is important as the students move within the K-12 environment; how are they able and proficient to successfully complete the "next upper grade." Then, how about the high school graduates entering either Community Colleges or Universities? Many of these institutions require "entrance tests" and if deficient must "pay" for additional "preparatory courses" thus creating a likely additional financial burden. Just some thoughts to consider.
