The city's accepting applications for its "Let's Paint the Town" program until March 30.

The beautification program provides exterior paint and discounted supplies to homeowners who live in La Marque to improve their homes, according to the city. To apply, residents must own and reside in a home in La Marque and have an established city utility account for the house, according to the city. There are no income qualifications for the program, according to the city.

“Applying for the program is simple,” said Chiquetter Clayton, a revitalization specialist for the city.

“It is a one-page application that can be mailed or dropped off at City Hall. Qualified applicants will be given a voucher to obtain the free paint and the house must be painted within four months. We are excited to give La Marque homeowners a little boost in their efforts to keep our city beautiful.”
