It would be great if the 1930s part of the school could be preserved through this, maybe by converting it into apartments?

It would be so great if GCDN could do a series on the Facilities Assessment performed by GISD in anticipation of future capital projects. The community really needs to be able to assess just which "surplus" facilities might lend themselves to disposal for mixed use or other development on the island - then GISD could approach this in a reasoned manner, soliciting a broad range of proposals from across the country to address the districts "right sizing" and the needs for housing of all types on the Island. There is very little developable real estate behind the seawall!
