I hope the city gets its money's worth. I expect to see substantially better school scores in the next three years. If that happens, I'll be his biggest fan.

It is time for the Galveston School Board of Trustees to realize that new buildings do not educate students. Student achievement comes from good teachers, challenging curriculum and high expectations for student behavior and performance from involved parents. It is a simple formula and it does not rest in bond issues for new buildings.
