Scholes Field is located in Class C airspace. If you want to know the dimensions and rules for operating there Google it. If you want to see the area it covers over Galveston find a map, draw a 5 mile circle around the center of the airport (airport reference point) and you will see where legal operation of a drone is. To operate a drone inside Class C airspace the operator must advise and receive permission from the FAA. Preictally speaking it's not enforceable over the city unless there is a incident or accident involving a drone.

I see realtors are using to market....maybe we could just restrict over the Island during migration?

I can see that drones would disrupt the birds. I've wondered how badly walking or cycling on the beach bothers the birds. They don't seem to like that either, if the fact that they fly away means anything. And yet we are allowed to walk and ride pretty much anywhere on the Island.

Interesting opinion, although not apparently shared by all bird watchers. I seen several using drones.

Also seems like drones have become a key tool in filming many of the latest nature documentaries as seen on natgeo. I

BBC’s Planet Earth documentary series is actually known for its filming with drones.
