Question? Where are the billboards advertising Galveston"s man made beaches?

Charlotte O'rourke

These sand rebuilding projects that cost $20 million or more and last a couple of years until the next storm are economically depressing. Though our beaches have never looked better, the way we have to achieve that look is certainly cost prohibitive.

I hope the PB is continuing to invest, research and advocate for projects that trap sand and rebuild the beaches long term. I haven’t seen any stories recently on the progress of these types of projects. How about an update?

So, if only about 60% of the sand was delivered, has the cost been adjusted, accordingly?
