Lemonade Day Galveston County, a free experiential learning program that teaches children how to start, own and operate a lemonade stand, will have a kickoff celebration from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at La Marque City Hall, 1111 Bayou Road, in La Marque.

Lemonade Day has spread to more 57 cities in 23 states and three countries.

The purpose of the event, which is open to the public, is to expose youth to the various principals that are incorporated into the Lemonade Day curriculum, and to help cultivate and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
