Holy Moly, what a giant screw up. These tax incentive deals hardly ever work out for the benefit of the citizens, this one particularly so.
Fast talking experts and gullible leaders made this deal, and 29 years from now nobody will remember why.
Yikes. That hurts!
Who signed off on making each and every payment? Do they have insurance coverage? Shouldn’t their annual audit have looked at this annual expense?
It clearly wasn’t a “failed” economic incentive deal. Based on the limited information presented in this article, it looks like someone stole and misled.
