Santa Fe will hold a referendum about whether to remove Mayor Jason Tabor from office after a resident successfully gathered enough petition signatures to force a recall vote.

But the referendum likely will have to wait until May 2022 because petitioners barely missed a deadline to get the recall on November ballots, officials said Wednesday.

Mayor Tabor clearly needs to get help. Santa Fe clearly deserves a sober clear thinking mayor free of addictions and drama. Public responsibility is a solemn 24/7 matter.
