The Texas City High School Stingarettes will have its annual dance clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the school’s gyn, 1431 Ninth Ave. N.

The University of Houston-Clear Lake is seeking participants for its annual Harvest Fair, which will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday in Atrium II of the Bayou Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd.

Holy Family Catholic School will have its annual fall festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at 2601 Ave. N.

The event is for all ages and will feature pony rides, a moonwalk, basketball toss, and more. Shrimp ‘N Stuff also will provide plate lunches for $10 each (11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). Bingo will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 880 will offer three $700 scholarships for students starting their first year of college.

Eligible students from Galveston should write an essay on what Veterans Day means to them.

Oct. 23 is the deadline to submit entries. Submit entries to the VFW Post No. 880, 1014 24th St., Galveston, TX 77550. The scholarships will be presented Nov. 11 at the Post.
