Update: This article has been edited to reflect a correction. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 880, 1014 24th St., will host a Memorial Day ceremony featuring a U.S. Coast Guard honor guard and subsequent golf-cart procession through the island’s downtown at 11 a.m. Sunday.

First things first: Hundreds of thousands of people are expected on the island over this long holiday weekend, so know that everything is likely to be significantly more crowded than usual — streets, shops, beaches, bars, restaurants and etc. Please stay patient and be decent to one another.
