On behalf of Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council, I’m excited to announce the launch of an online training program for people interested in becoming certified nature guides and/or ambassadors for Galveston Island.

In our initial training, we certified the first two Nature Tourism Guides (NTGs) — Mary Warwick and Root Choyce — both of whom are avid naturalists and passionate about sharing the natural beauty and value of Galveston with residents and visitors alike.

Chris O’Shea Roper is a certified Master Naturalist, freelance writer, and author of the new book “Legacy of the Early Gulf Coast Cowboys.”
