Master Gardeners will conduct a second Fall Plant Sale on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Discovery Garden in Carbide Park. A variety of plants will be available including citrus trees, avocados, blueberries, gingers, salvias, bulbs and fall vegetables including broccoli

At last, real fall weather conditions arrived over the past weekend —temperatures dipping into the upper 50s on a Saturday morning provided for the start of a pleasant weekend.

Even though daytime temperatures for the week will likely be in the mid-70s to mid-80s, I am ready to believe the cooler temperatures of the fall season will prevail over the coming weeks. Cooler mornings in October will make it a joy to get out and work in the home vegetable garden.
