We all know that receiving medical care and navigating the health care world can be stressful. However, physician assistants, or PAs, are here to help.

When you need health care, a PA’s goal is to be there for you. We’re medical professionals who diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications and can serve as your primary health care provider.

Barbara Slusher is a physician assistant and assistant professor with UTMB’s PA Studies program.
