Just because it’s called Houston Restaurant Weeks doesn’t mean that Galveston County restaurants are sitting out August’s annual food bank fundraiser.

Local restaurants are involved and the area’s diners are responding, too, enjoying special multi-course meals at some of the best venues in Dickinson, Friendswood, Kemah and Galveston. For Houston Restaurant Weeks, which runs from Aug. 1 to Sept. 7, each of the several hundred participating restaurants devise a special prix fixe menu, at set price points of $20 for brunch, $20 for lunch and $35 or $45 for dinner, that bring in new diners and surprise regular customers.
