Chocolate has always been a Valentine’s Day staple, whether in fancy boxes or foil-wrapped kisses, and in recent years, it’s also been paired with fresh strawberries to create a two-bite treat that turns up everywhere in the run-up to Feb. 14.

“The chocolate-dipped strawberries are our number one item on Valentine’s Day,” Demas Caravageli, owner of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, noted. His candy store on Galveston’s Strand gears up for a big day of dipping and decorating.
