The history of the American church has been one characterized by either division or diversity depending on how you choose to look at it.

From the Colonial Era choices of just Congregational, Anglican, Baptist and a few others, the current American landscape counts over 200 denominations. Megachurches with different logos even rise on the opposite corners of major intersections.
