Register online for Kids U summer camp

Online registration is ongoing for the Kids U summer camp from University of Clear Lake’s Center for Educational Programs. Featuring a variety of themed half-day camps in June and July, courses are designed to inspire exploration and learning in students from prekindergarten through 12th grade.

Topics include crime scene investigation, computer programming, video game design, public speaking, writing and storytelling, survival skills, dinosaurs and many more.

Kids U runs six camps that target different interests at different ages: Cultural Academy, Early Childhood, Math, Science, Technology and Young Writers.

Student art on exhibit at UHCL through May 11

Experience the works of UH-Clear Lake art students at the 2017 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, now showing through May 11 in UHCL’s Bayou Building Art Gallery, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., in Houston.

The art includes a variety of mediums, all created by graduating or recently graduated art students. The 2017 exhibition is juried by Dennis Nance, curator of the Galveston Arts Center. UH-Clear Lake spring graduation May 14 in NRG Arena

Celebrate with University of Houston-Clear Lake graduates at two commencement ceremonies on May 14 in NRG Arena, 1 NRG Park, in Houston.

Students from the College of Business and College of Human Sciences and Humanities will graduate in a noon ceremony; students from the College of Education and the College of Science and Engineering will graduate at 5 p.m.

UH System Regent Spencer D. Armour III will deliver the commencement address at noon. UHCL alumnus J. Brett Lemley, principal of Clear Horizons Early College High School, is the guest speaker at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

Graduating students may invite as many guests as they like, but seating for guests is first come, first served. Attending the ceremony is free, but parking rates vary at the venue. For more information, visit
