TEXAS CITY — Fifty-four of the county’s cleanest food service establishments are school cafeterias, Galveston County Health District officials said.

The 17th Gold Ribbon awards were presented recently, and school cafeterias dominated the presentations that recognize food service places that are the best at following state health regulations. The health district regulates all public kitchens in Galveston County.
