Avery is a 1 year old retriever mix with a short tan coat, floppy ears and great big golden eyes. She is a very gentle and docile girl, although excitement does make her want to jump which is a work in progress. With help Avery has been learning basic commands and she has attended training class. She gets along with other dogs and is very gentle with cats and smaller dogs. Her attentive, eager to please attitude would do great for a home that is moderately active. Come meet this happy girl!

Georgie is a 3 year old brown tabby with a super soft medium length coat. He found himself in our care after his family had a change of living situation. Georgie is an independent, hardworking cat of skill who prefers to be left alone while he's busy hunting bread ties and paper clips. Just like anyone else though, at the end of a long "productive" day he wants someone he trusts to curl up beside and cuddle. He may take time to build trust, but the most rewarding things in life come with work and patience and he is no exception to that rule! Come meet this beautiful, playful cat!

Our shelter offers spay and neuter assistance to Galveston Island

residents.

A reminder: the City of Galveston requires current registration (2014) of all pets. Registration and city tags are available at the shelter. You must bring proof of a current rabies vaccination and also something showing whether the pets is spayed or neutered. The cost is only $5 if they are fixed, and $50 if not.
