Signs of life? Readers are buzzing about the installation of plywood at the long vacant 1891 Henry Beissner House in Galveston and wondering whether it’s a sign restoration is imminent.

“Shocking! It’s been boarded up for the first time that some remember from at least the early ‘90s, if not much longer,” one reader emailed. “This is actually recent, new plywood. Something has changed for this neglected beauty.”
