Shaken and stirred: Crews working to brace up the marquee at the Martini Theatre recently caused a stir.

The work was to make the marquee safer, owner Michael Martini said. But any movement at the long-closed, 990-seat movie theater invariably raises hope among islanders who have long wanted to see the art deco style theater, built in 1937, redeveloped.

I re-watched Star Wars many months after its opening at the Martini. I think they were doing limited screening till 1977-78?
