Biz Buzz Cinemark Movies 12

Cinemark in Texas City won’t renew its lease at the end of the year, giving Jerome Karam, who owns Mainland City Centre where the theater is located, the opportunity to upgrade and open his own movie and dinner concept.

Sequel in store: After about 30 years in Texas City, Plano-based Cinemark will close at year’s end, making way for another movie theater concept to take its place.

Cinemark representatives have notified owners of Mainland City Centre, formerly Mall of the Mainland, that the movie theater chain would not renew the lease it has had at the 10000 Emmett F. Lowry property since 1991, when the mall opened.
