The Hitchcock Chamber of Commerce named Kristen Ivey as its interim executive director on Wednesday.

Ivey started her career with the chamber as an intern her senior year at Hitchcock High School in 2013. Ivey’s family has lived in Hitchcock for generations and is an avid supporter of the community serving on many boards, elected positions, as well as the Hitchcock Volunteer Fire Dept.

Ivey, who is working toward a bachelor’s degree in health care administration at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, will begin leading the chamber on Monday. Ivey will be replacing Monica Cantrell, who is the outgoing executive director. Cantrell recently accepted a position with the Hitchcock Education Foundation.
