From selling snow cones to renting chairs and umbrellas, small business owners, concessionaires, work to enhance visitors’ and residents’ beach experiences. At park board-managed parks, these concessionaires provide amenities to visitors and an opportunity for the vendors to build a successful business and earn money during the summer season.

With the recent hire of Guest Experience Manager Ann Hobing, the park board is seeking more diversity among its concessionaires and their products.

Mary Beth Bassett is the public relations director for the Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Park Board of Trustees.
