7 p.m. on ABC

Grey’s Anatomy The aftermath of her chat with Nathan (Martin Henderson) isn’t pretty for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) in the new episode “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.” Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) has a tough matter to deal with. Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) family dinner goes awry. Jackson (Jesse Williams) is surprised by some news. Richard and Bailey (James Pickens Jr., Chandra Wilson) seek promising talent. Debbie Allen (also an executive producer here), Abigail Spencer and Greg Germann continue their guest roles.

7:25 p.m. on CBS NFL Football Two potential playoff contenders meet up when second-year quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles visit Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. Newton has an improved surrounding cast, particularly rookie running back Christian McCaffrey, as the Panthers hope to get back in the same form as two years ago when they represented the NFC in the Super Bowl. Wentz, meanwhile, has shouldered much of the load in Philly and could really use the help of a running game.

8 p.m. on NBC Will & Grace Another actor from the original series returns, as Harry Connick Jr. reprises the role of Grace’s (Debra Messing) ex-husband Leo in the new episode “Emergency Contact.” The title describes just what Leo is when he’s summoned by Grace’s doctor instead of Will (Eric McCormack). Jack (Sean Hayes) adapts well to his new job. Karen (Megan Mullally) makes a new, and young, friend.
