A man arrested on Sunday in relation to a Houston crash that injured three people was charged with felony evading arrest in Dickinson on Monday, police said.

Juan Alvizo, 28, of La Porte, was also charged in Harris County with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

Alvizo was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and brought to Dickinson jail, police said. He was later transferred to the Harris County jail, officials said.

Alvizo was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while intoxicated Sunday, police said.

Police tried to stop a 2011 Chevrolet truck about 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of state Highway 3 in Dickinson, but the driver fled, officials said. The chase ended when the truck struck another vehicle on state Highway 3 in South Houston, police said.

A man, a woman and a 9-year-old girl were in the other vehicle, and were seriously injured, police said. Police did not provide information about their injuries Monday.

Alvizo’s bond in Harris County has been set at $150,000.

His total bonds for both charges in Harris County and Galveston County totaled $250,000, police said.
