Thousands of cyclists pedaled through Galveston on Saturday during a Ride Out event. Jeff Nielsen, owner of Island Bicycle Company, estimated more than 3,000 riders of all ages participated in the event he organized. The cyclists gathered at the Port of Galveston parking lot at 33rd Street and Harborside drive before heading south on 33rd street to the seawall where they turned east to pedal through the Beachtown neighborhood then back through the island's downtown on Market Street.
