Mardi Gras revelers were met with overcast skies and temperatures in the 40s Sunday as the second weekend of Galveston's Mardi Gras came to a close. Thousands of beads were thrown during the three family-friendly parades. The Shriners Hospitals for Children & Sunshine Kids Parade started off the festivities followed by the popular Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade with costumed pets and people, and the 14th Annual Firefighters Children’s Parade closed out the day.

The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius will close out Mardi Gras with their annual Fat Tuesday parade at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 in downtown Galveston.
