FRIENDSWOOD

Friendswood Independent School District Trustee Tony Hopkins was reelected Sept. 25 to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards board of directors, representing Region 4, Position C.

The election was held during the association’s 2021 Delegate Assembly in Dallas.

Hopkins has served on the district’s board since 2008 and was elected to his fourth four-year term in 2020. Hopkins serves as board president. He’s a Leadership TASB graduate and a Master Trustee. Hopkins has served on the association’s board since March 2018.

Hopkins also was the president of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards for 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 and is active in the association’s grassroots process, which discerns issues of importance to school districts that will eventually be crafted into the association’s Advocacy Agenda priorities that guide it during the legislative session.
