Margaret Jo Curtis and Anthony Wayne Cann, both of Galveston, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. on June 27, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Church in Galveston. Music was provided by The Houston Strings during the ceremony and during cocktail hour at the reception.
A reception was held at The Trolley Station in Galveston with music by The Line Up.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian Conti of Galveston and Ms. Kate Zurenko and Christopher Curtis of Galveston. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Doherty, and Ms. Jo Ann Curtis.
The groom is the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Anthony Cann of Galveston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Anthony Cann IV and Mrs. Margaret Cann, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Urso.
The bride wore a soft, romantic tulle gown with an Illusion Lace bodice over a sweetheart neckline that continued to the back in a sultry open V-back.
Mrs. Sara Spence served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Laura Addison, Dr. Hannah O’Donohoe, Mrs. Stacia Pfost , Mrs. Shelly Delaney, Mrs. Ashey Lewis, Mrs. Lauren Desormeaux, and honorary bridesmaid Andi McKenna.
Maj. Aaron Matlock, MD served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Brian Cann, Mr. Justin Cann, Mr. Blake Horton, Mr. Patrick Courtney, Mr. Casey O’Donohoe and Mr. Sammy Parks.
Ushers were Mr. Russell Johns, Mr. Brett Morris, and Mr. William Roberts IV.
Margaret is a graduate of Ball High School in Galveston and received a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a teacher at Oppe Elementary.
Anthony is a graduate of Ball High School in Galveston and received a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Anthony is the Athletic Director at O’Connell Preparatory High School in Galveston.
Following a honeymoon trip to Italy, the couple will reside in Galveston.
