Erica Chuoke Weds Travis Brown

Miss Erica Ann Chuoke and Mr. Travis Howard Brown were united in Holy Matrimony at 2:00 in the afternoon on August 3, 2013 at Saint Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Texas City. The nuptial mass was celebrated by Reverend Thomas V. Ponzini.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Chamber Music Unlimited Quartet. Liturgists were Eleanor Ramirez and Ruben Sanchez, friends of the groom.

The bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception following the ceremony in the Frances Anne Moody Ballroom at Moody Gardens Hotel. Entertainment was provided by PRP Entertainment.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Willie G’s, Pier 21.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Chuoke, Jr. of Texas City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Mitchell Chuoke, Sr. and the late Mrs. Helen Chuoke, Mrs. Dorothy Perren and the late Mr. Billy Perren all of Texas City.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hale of New Braunfels. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Newton McDonald of New Braunfels.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Essence of Australia. The modified A-line gown was made of dolce satin and featured strong pleating at the sweetheart neckline and asymmetrically across the bodice resonating from the crystal embellishment at the hip. To complement the gown the bride wore a fingertip luminous veil designed by Gissele with scalloped crystal beading around the edge. The bride carried a traditional cascade bouquet with white casa blanca lilies, asiatic lilies, stephanotis with crystal centers accented with blue dendrobium orchids and trimmed with ivory satin ribbon. The bouquet was adorned with a rosary of her late grandmother.

Shelley Grant of Deer Park served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Bambi Bierstedt of Kingsbury, Ashley Haenel and Lanna Welch of San Marcos, Sara Hubertus of League City and Ashley McDonald of Austin.

Lily Chuoke, cousin of the bride served as flower girl and was escorted by her brother, Alan Chuoke, cousin of the bride. Special attendants were Annie Chuoke and Helen Moninghoff, cousins of the bride.

Chad Doane of Austin served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Kevin Bierstedt of Kingsbury, Mitchell Chuoke III of Texas City, brother of the bride, Jason Horton of San Marcos, Bret Major of New Braunfels and James Schiller of Houston.

Wyatt Chuoke, cousin of the bride served as ring bearer. Altar servers were Joseph and Mackey Chuoke and Edward Moninghoff, cousins of the bride. Ushers were Ted Baker and James Fitch, cousins of the bride.

Erica is a graduate of Texas City High School and Sam Houston State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Academic Studies. She is employed with the Comal Independent School District in New Braunfels.

Travis is a graduate of San Marcos High School and Sam Houston State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is employed with Baker Hughes in San Antonio.

Following a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Erica and Travis will reside In New Braunfels.
