Don’t forget to go and vote today

It’s up to you. Voters across the state, including those in Galveston County, have several proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution on the ballot. Among the more interesting ones are those involving public access to the beaches, restrictions on eminent domain and research funds for universities.
Closer to home, voters in Santa Fe face three bond proposals — the first in the city’s history. Voters in Friendswood will decide whether alcohol can be sold and served downtown.
Seats are open on the Galveston school board and on the special utility district’s board on the Bolivar Peninsula.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In today’s edition, you’ll find a list of candidates, propositions and polling places.
