LEAGUE CITY — Ten months after Hurricane Ike damaged every building in the Clear Creek Independent School District, repairs almost are complete, officials said.
Debris has been removed, 97 percent of roof damage has been repaired and 95 percent of gym floors have been replaced.
“We still have a few repairs to finish,” Associate Superintendent Ron McPherson said. “Most of our major projects have wrapped up, and we just have some minor repair jobs to complete.”
The district estimates its out-of-pocket expenses at $812,811.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency paid more than $8.2 million for all debris removal and most of the district’s uninsured losses, district officials said. Insurance paid almost $8.9 million.
