FRIENDSWOOD — A man accused of stabbing his wife was arrested after police stormed the couple’s apartment Friday evening.
Christopher Cordaway, 31, was detained after a brief struggle with three police officers, according to a Friendswood Police Department press release.
Friendswood police responded to a 911 call at 7:45 p.m. at Baybrook Village Apartments, in the 2800 block of West Bay Area Boulevard.
Police found the female victim and her infant child were in a back bedroom of the apartment.
Police said Cordaway was trying to break down the bedroom door when they arrived.
The victim told police that earlier her husband was recklessly driving on Interstate 45 near Baybrook Mall. The man then pulled into the mall parking lot and stabbed the victim in the arm, police said. Her injury was not life threatening.
Houston Police Department officers were summoned to the apartment because Baybrook Mall falls under their jurisdiction.
Cordaway was turned over to Houston police, who later charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Cordaway is being held in Harris County Jail, and bond will not be set until his court appearance today.
