Public school districts
Clear Creek: Thursday for both students and employees.
Dickinson: Wednesday for employees and Thursday for students.
Friendswood: Thursday for both students and employee.
Galveston: Wednesday for employees and Thursday for students. Crenshaw Elementary and Middle School will not open until electricity is restored to the Bolivar Peninsula, which could take weeks.
Hitchcock: Wednesday for employees and Thursday for students.
High Island: Will not open until electricity is restored, which could take weeks.

College of the Mainland: Classes resume today.
University of Texas Medical Branch: All schools are expected to resume classes Thursday.
While schools on the Bolivar Peninsula were left without electricity in the wake of Hurricane Rita, most of the other schools in Galveston County will open this week.
Officials said it may take weeks to restore power to campuses in Port Bolivar, which is in the Galveston Independent School District, and in the High Island Independent School District.
Students attending other campuses in the Galveston school district are scheduled to report on Thursday.
All district faculty and staff are being asked to return on Wednesday.
District spokeswoman Christine Hopkins said Parker Elementary School sustained some damage, but most district facilities came through the hurricane well.
School officials in both High Island and Galveston school districts said parents should stay tuned to news reports for information on when peninsula schools will reopen.
O’Connell Consolidated High School in Galveston, which is scheduled to reopen Thursday, sustained some roof damage to one of its buildings. The main campus was unaffected.
The school’s principal, Bill Doughty, said the journalism classroom and some business offices would be moved temporary while roof repairs are made.
Texas A&M University at Galveston asked its employees to report to work on Monday.
Residence halls and housing on Pelican Island are expected to reopen at noon today. The cafeteria is expected to serve the first meal at breakfast on Wednesday. Classes are scheduled to resume Thursday.
Teri Fowle, a spokeswoman for Texas A&M University at Galveston, said electricity has been intermittent and was still being worked on Monday. Schedules could change based on availability of power, she said.
