Salvation Army, Scouts kettle plan drive

The Salvation Army of Galveston County has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America serving Galveston and Brazoria counties to sponsor a Red Kettle Christmas in July fundraising event.
The red kettles and bell ringing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 11. The red kettles will be at three stores in Galveston: Arlan’s Market, Kroger and Palais Royal. The red kettles also will be at nine stores on the mainland, including Kroger in Texas City, Hobby Lobby in League City, Baywood Foods in Hitchcock and Ziegler’s Foods in Dickinson.
The Salvation Army in Galveston and Texas City will benefit from the event. Proceeds will support needy families.
