Cypress Woods 3, Clear Creek 2
The Lady Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker to Cy Woods, 25-21, 10-25, 25-23, 19-25, 12-15, in a playoff warm-up.
Creek actually held a lead 12-9 in Game 5 before dropping six straight points, something coach Scott Simonds has harped on.
Natalie Piznar (17 digs), Rachel Hobaugh (13 kills, nine digs), Madeline Gaffney (14 kills, four blocks) and Cherish Krohn (10 kills, four digs) contributed for the Lady Wildcats.
“We played very well overall, except Game 2 and the end of Game 5,” Simonds said.
Creek plays Fort Bend Dulles 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dawson High School in the bi-district playoffs.

Clear Lake 3, Friendswood 1
The Lady Mustangs dropped their first game since the Pearland Tournament the second week in September. Friendswood fell to Lake, 16-25, 22-25, 25-18, 21-25.
Tiffany Thomas (14 kills), Jasmine Casey (11 kills, 26 digs), Annie Mitchem (11 kills, six blocks), Kaelan O’Neill (22 digs) and Siobhan O’Neill (24 assists) led Friendswood.
