Eugene (Gene) Arlie Osteen
AUSTIN — Eugene (Gene) Arlie Osteen was born October 25, 1946, in Austin Texas. Gene died October 30, 2009, in Dale Texas in an accident at the farm.
Gene is preceded in death by his loving mother Ann Osteen.
Survivors are his wife of 43 years Clydette Osteen; sons Michael Osteen (Sherri), James “Juke” Osteen (Rachel), William Osteen (Amanda); daughters Genie Jennings (Chris), Annie Matthews (Trey); son of his heart, George Faust (Kim); father Lael Osteen; brothers Jim Osteen (Janice), Jackie Osteen (Helen); sisters Su Eason (Bob), and Cindy Osteen along with 13 Grandchildren whom he loved dearly, JonMichael, Matthew, Mitchell, Katie, Lauren, James Arthur, Allison, Kody, Hunter, Sydney, Sophie, Fisher, Jadon and grandchildren of his heart Jon-Paul (Amanda), Joshua, Jordan, Jerrin, Josiah, Janessa, Kealey and Sarah; and great grandson Kaleb.
Gene also had numerous life long friends, many he helped raise, and relatives who were dear to his heart, who saw him as either a brother or father. Gene will be dearly missed by all who knew him – he was genuinely a good man!
Local services are at Baypoint Community Church, 2801 Palmer Hwy in Texas City on Thursday November 5, 2009, with visitation from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7 p.m. A short visitation and funeral will be held on Friday November 6, 2009, at Bateman Baptist Church, 2691 FM 20 in Red Rock, Texas starting at 1 p.m., service at 2 p.m. with the burial following at Bunton Cemetary in Dale, Texas.
Pallbearers are Michael Osteen, Juke Osteen, William Osteen, JonMichael Osteen, Jim Osteen, Trey Matthews, Chris Jennings, and George Faust. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Osteen, Mitchell Jennings, James Arthur Matthews, Kody Osteen, Hunter Matthews, Fisher Matthews, and Jadon Osteen.
