Eleven Galveston County football players will be in action at Huffman Falcon Stadium tonight for the second annual Greater Houston Football Coaches Association Bowl.

Teams will not be divided by geography, but rather will simply just be put on either the Red Team roster or White Team roster for the game. The scenario will find local players, and even teammates, competing on opposite sides of the field.

La Marque head coach Mike Jackson, who helped found the all-star contest and who will serve as head coach of this year’s White Team, said the game was started as a way for players from smaller schools to receive some postseason recognition.

The White roster will feature La Marque players Val Allen, Marquez Baker and Ricky Guillen and Hitchcock player T.J. Combs. The Red roster includes Andrew Allen, Corey Johnson, Kory Richardson and Tyler Rogers of Texas City; Markel Dupree and Dalvion Grismore of La Marque; and Tripp Halstead of Santa Fe.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled tonight at 7 p.m.
