Texas City 3, South Houston 0

TEXAS CITY — The Lady Stings won their season opener Tuesday at home in dominant fashion, sweeping South Houston 25-11, 25-13, 25-10.

Treslyn Ortiz led the Texas City effort with 10 kills, nine aces and four digs. Hailee King added eight kills for the Lady Stings.

Texas City will next be in action Thursday through Saturday at the Pearland Tournament.

Clear Springs 3, Alvin 0

LEAGUE CITY — Clear Springs opened its season with an impressive sweep of Alvin — ranked No. 6 in the state in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s 6A preseason poll — as the Chargers topped the Lady Jackets on Tuesday, 25-18, 28-26, 25-18.

Kylie Jedlicka was the kills leader for the Chargers with 13.

Clear Springs will compete next at the Pearland Tournament, which begins Thursday.

Dickinson 3, Baytown Sterling 0

DICKINSON — The Lady Gators are off to a 1-0 start to their season after sweeping Baytown Sterling on Tuesday, 25-20, 26-24, 25-15

Nayo Warnell had a team-high 16 kills for Dickinson. Bailee Berringer led the team in assists with 32, and Mallory Moore led in digs with 10.

Dickinson travels to North Texas for its next games, participating in the Grapevine Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Clear Creek 3, Dulles 0

KATY — The Wildcats swept Dulles on Tuesday as part of a season-opening tri-match, winning 25-15, 25-16, 25-13.

Melody Horton had 11 kills, seven digs and six aces for Clear Creek. Mariah Pardo finished with 18 assists and seven digs, Allison Donovan added nine digs and three assists, Melissa McNeil chipped in with seven kills, and Olivia Rigby totaled eight digs, two assists and two aces.

Seven Lakes 3, Clear Creek 2

KATY — The Wildcats lost to homestanding Seven Lakes on Tuesday as part of a tri-match, falling in five games 22-25, 18-25, 29-27, 25-8, 12-15.

Melody Horton finished with 26 kills and 21 digs for Clear Creek, and teammate Mariah Pardo set up 45 assists with nine digs. Olivia Rigby had 28 digs, Erica Kropp made 22 digs, and Allison Donovan added 17 digs and 11 assists.

Clear Creek takes the court again Thursday in the Pearland Tournament.

Ball High 3, Pasadena 0

GALVESTON — Ball High got its season off to a successful start, sweeping Pasadena on Tuesday, 25-9, 25-10, 25-19

Sheridan Hopkins led the way for Ball High with 10 kills, six blocks and four aces. Taylor Termini added nine kills, and Gillian Nelson recorded 23 assists and nine digs.

The Lady Tors hit the road for their next game 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at South Houston.

Santa Fe 3, Manvel 0

MANVEL — The Lady Indians romped their way to a season debut win, defeating Manvel on Tuesday, 25-23, 25-7, 25-16.

Keegan Nelms had a standout performance with 17 kills and 24 digs for Santa Fe. Madison Ogden added 10 kills, Jordan Jewell had 15 digs, and Cayla Hockenbury led the squad with 30 assists.

Santa Fe will play next in the Pearland Tournament on Thursday.

Clear Brook 3, St. Agnes 0

FRIENDSWOOD — The Wolverines clawed their way through three close games in a sweep of Houston St. Agnes Academy on Tuesday, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

Amanda Miller led Clear Brook with 11 kills, and Juliet DiGuissepi had 10 kills.
