LEAGUE CITY – Clear Falls scored six runs in the first inning — all with two outs — and four in the second inning on their way to a 13-0 rout against Dickinson on Monday in District 24-5A softball play.

Dickinson pitcher Janell Villarreal retired the first two Knight batters in the bottom of the first inning on just three pitches.

But then a walk to Tori Hatten was followed by a single by Taylor Troutt that advanced Hatten to third. Amber Pufal followed with a double that brought both baserunners home. Brooke Wilhite followed with a line-drive single past the diving shortstop Angelica Gonzales, advancing Pufal to third.

With Misty Muniz at the plate, Wilhite stole second. Muniz singled, loading the bases.

Allie Rich followed with a 2-run double to left, scoring Pufal easily, and Wilhite slid and collided at home plate with the catcher Hannah Thompson.

Wilhite remained on the ground in pain for a few minutes before being helped up andcarted off the field with a right leg injury.

With Rachel Bobo at the plate, Gonzales tried to pick off LeVick from third base but threw over the head of third baseman Kristan Deitz, allowing LeVick to score and Rich to advance to third base. On the next pitch, Bobo singled to left, scoring Rich for the sixth run of the inning.

In the second inning, Madison Michna led off with an infield single, then stole second and third. Tori Hatten worked a walk, followed by Taylor Troutt’s RBI fielder’s choice.

Pufal followed with a single to left advancing Troutt to second, and Madison Demers, who replaced Wilhite, smacked a three-run home run to center to make the score 10-0.

Misty Muniz pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning thanks to third baseman Pufal’s diving catch for the final out.

Muniz gave up two hits, had a strikeout and walked three to get the win.

With the win, the Knights stayed undefeated in District 24-5A.
