O’Connell Prep 8, Huntsville Alpha Omega 2

GALVESTON – The Buccaneers got a strong performance on the mound and at the plate from Blake Chapman in a win against Huntsville Alpha Omega on Friday.

Chapman pitched a complete game, scattering six hits and striking out six batters for the win.

At the plate, he went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and scored twice.

Justin Viernes went 3-for-4 and scored two runs, and Gavin Harris went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.

The win improved the Buc’s record to 5-6 overall, 2-3 in district.

They take to the road Tuesday to play Pasadena First Baptist.

Hitchcock 8, Brazos 4

WALLIS – Michael Parker went 2-for-3 as the Bulldogs got a win against Brazos on Friday.

He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Kyle Cook handled Brazos’ lineup with ease, racking up 11 strikeouts. Cook allowed four earned runs, three hits and four walks over seven innings.

Brazoswood 3, Clear Springs 0

BRAZOSWOOD – The Chargers were held to three hits — all singles — Saturday in a loss to Brazoswood.

Itchy Burts took the loss for Clear Springs, giving up three runs — two earned — on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts while going the distance.

Blake Chisolm, Tyrone Thomas and Shelby Manning got the Chargers’ hits.

The Hitchcock Bulldogs never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Matthew Richardson and a two-run error.

Pearland Dawson 8, Texas City 5

PEARLAND – The Stings scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their deficit in a loss to Pearland Dawson on Friday.

Jacob Fuller took the loss for Stingarees.

He allowed seven runs in 32/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.

The Stings were held to four hits — singles by Zack Powell, Andrew McWilliams, Allen Mull and Fuller.

Ball High 12, Galena Park 1

GALVESTON – The Tors scored six runs in the first inning and five more in the fourth on their way to a blowout win against Galena Park on Friday.

Leadoff hitter Baine Schoenvogel went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run, Simeon Williams went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored, and Todd Streck went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and scored a run.

Friendswood 6, Santa Fe 0

FRIENDSWOOD – The Mustangs got 11 strikeouts from starting pitcher Ryan Shetter on their way to a blowout win against Santa Fe.

Ty Neumann took the loss for the Indians.
